I always hear about how hard ZBrush is to learn - so lets fix that! In this video I go over everything you need to know to get a model in ZBrush, including the little quirks that trip new users up. From there I explain all the basic buttons and menus that you need to navigate working with ZBrush, how to import and export models and more! After this you should be ready to sculpt, which I will cover properly in another video :)
If you have any questions feel free to leave them in the YouTube comments and I will help if I can!
Cheers,
Michael
In this video I run through the new features of the Mari 4.6 update and how I used them to texture some robot variations I created for The Foundry to celebrate the launch.
If you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the YouTube comments and I will help as much as I can!

In this video we're learning about UDIMs, the go to for UVing in the VFX industry. It can be a scary topic for some, so this video is everything you need to know about UDIMs and UVs for Maya, Substance Painter and Mari - What are UDIMs, why do we use them and what benefits do they bring?

With the latest release of The Foundry's texturing software Mari, we now have the ability to work with Materials! In this video I break down how to create a material in Mari, how to combine multiple ones on your mesh, and how to use the new Ingest Tool to help quickly create materials.

In this video we're taking a look at the features of Mari's Node Graph. If you've never used it before this is a great place to start! A nodal workflow is great for texturing as you can easily see your setup quickly and it can be a great help when it comes to texturing procedurally.

Tiled textures can be the backbone of texturing for VFX, so it's really important to know how to make them yourself from photo reference. In this video I show how I use the Clone Stamp tool, the offset filter and adjustment layers to help make a tileable texture for use in Mari and other texture paint software.

A video on a great Maya / Substance Painter workflow to setup your ID maps from Maya and use that for quick and easily updated texturing in Substance. By using the texture baking along with Maya shaders and materials I speed up my work flow to help with a more procedural texturing pipeline for VFX.

In this tutorial I go over the basic features of Nuke that are useful when it comes to texturing. Basic nodes like the read, write, colour correct and shuffle nodes are necessities when it comes to using Nuke as a way to help your texturing process. Nuke is quite an intimating piece of software so hopefully this can help if you're new to it.

Mari's Advanced blending for Merge Nodes (and layers) is one of my favourite features of texturing inside of Mari 4.5. In this video I cover how I use it to add procedural breakup to the edges of masks. For more videos about Mari 4.5, Zbrush and Substance check out my Youtube channel. Leave any questions either on here or over on youtube, or videos you would like to see in the future.
