Oh boy, it's a long one! Recently Allegorithmic held a texturing contest called Meet Mat 2 and I thought that was a great opportunity to jump back into Substance Painter 2019 and Substance Designer. In this video we recreate my original textures, which took 2 days, from scratch in a much shorter time. Along the way we will cover new Substance Painter 2019 features like proper displacement and realtime Subsurface Scattering in the shaders. In this first part of two we create the base ceramic material and the gold.
Substance Painter Topics covered include:
-Disp & SSS in shaders
-Instancing Materials
-Working with UDIMs in Substance
-Blend Modes
-Making Materials
-Importing Resources
-Using Filters
-Texture Projection Modes
This tutorial is great beginners new to substance or people just starting out that want to see how assets are textured. The second part will be uploaded in a few days and includes other topics like smart mask construction.
