In this Introduction to Sculpting in Zbrush 2020 video, I go over everything you need to know to get started using the software and sculpting your own creatures. I go through all the features (see list below!) and then have a timelapse at the end of me sculpting an organic creature - a goldfish - using Dynamesh, ZRemesher and all the other tools I've taught in this tutorial. Download the fish zbrush scene and model here: https://gumroad.com/michaelwildevfx

Features I cover in this video: * Importing an object * Subtools * Subdividing * Sculpting & Brushes * Alphas * Materials * Masking * Dynamesh * Zremesher * UV Master * & a creature sculpting demo! [starts at 29:01]

Texturing Theory 101 - Tutorial - Maps and Channels!

General / 09 July 2020

This video is for people that are fairly new to texturing or want a refresher on what certain channels and map do for an object. From the very basics of looking at texture reference we go through every single channel you usually come across, what those maps usually look like and how to create them yourself.

If your a beginner when it comes to texture or just want a refresher then this video is for you. Texturing can be quite a complex subject so I try and break it down as simply as possible into the basics of the theory behind it.

Substance Painter: ID Maps Setup with Maya

General / 01 September 2019

A video on a great Maya / Substance Painter workflow to setup your ID maps from Maya and use that for quick and easily updated texturing in Substance. By using the texture baking along with Maya shaders and materials I speed up my work flow to help with a more procedural texturing pipeline for VFX.
