My Zbrush and Mari pass on my Squirtle model. I used Texturing XYZ maps, the Flipped Normals skin pack and images from Textures.com to achieve it all.
Sculpted in Zbrush using dynamesh then retopoed in Maya. I combined handsculpted details with tiled and projected displacements in Mari and this is the final result inside of Zbrush! It was a bit of a challenge to get the hand sculpting lining up with the projected disp in this project, unlike when previously using Texturing XYZ maps. It was a bit of back and forth, but using polypaint to make masks really helped :) I will be texturing it next in Mari.
